Birth of Julius Caesar

#OnThisDay: Julius Caesar was born on July 12, 100 BC. He served as Pontifex Maximus, general in the civil war against Pompey and Labienus and in the Gallic War of 58-50 BC. He became dictator in 45 BC and was assassinated on March 15, 44 BC: the “Ides of March.”
