PCB circuit boards for aircraft and military applications

Have you ever seen a radio or computer PCB (printed circuit board), are there any interconnected electronic components? No? Well, this is a circuit board containing pads and wires, which can be electrically connected together at different points, or more precisely, components and connectors are connected to each other. The circuit board allows signals and power to be easily imported through physical devices. With the help of solder, the components on the PCB surface are electronically interconnected.

Solder is a metal, suitable for use as a strong adhesive on components. You can find PCBs in equipment such as precision radars, pagers, buzzers, and even computer software. Due to their different uses, PCBs have different designs, shapes and sizes. For example, printed circuit boards used in aircraft have more complex designs that have been invented to meet the ever-increasing functionality of aircraft. Designing a PCB for aviation is not easy.

Aviation printed circuit board

For beginners, their design must be more powerful, which requires specific layout and design techniques. Making circuit boards for airplanes is a difficult and time-consuming task. Pay special attention to the thermal management of the PCB, while considering the special design and layout techniques of high-frequency RF components. Therefore, in order to manufacture printed circuit boards for aerospace equipment, basic design and layout must be considered to make them more superior.

This means that the designer must define the correct board material, specify precise drilling diagrams, keep clean assembly considerations, keep stacking recommendations for layouts, add extra cushions for mechanical dimensions and holes, and use the correct termination method And perform pre-layout simulation. The designer of the aircraft circuit board must also verify the impedance calculation, shield the signal, separate the ground plane and the power supply, and then maintain the correct aspect ratio.

Reasons for special PCB design and layout

Other requirements to be considered by planar circuit board designers include that the PCB design should have additional current buffer pads and also use correct milling cutter specifications. This is indeed a harsh process. MIL-SPEC components are mainly used in aviation PCB design because of their very tight tolerances. For recording, an additional current buffer is used to enhance the current in the circuit.

Due to the sensitive nature of the components found in the aircraft, printed circuit board applications are made with circuits that properly handle three amps. why? The airplane circuit board only requires a maximum load of two amperes. So three-ampere circuits can handle important applications in PCBs used in airplanes. If there are abnormal or high peaks, the extra margin can easily handle everything. All these designs and layouts play a key role in making PCBs in the aviation industry more robust and efficient.
