The ‘Joker’ Spider Is No Joke

Not sure the nickname of this guy is all that creative, and to be honest… I think it is a bit of a reach. But I assumed they would at least take it’s actual scientific name a little more seriously, and of course… I was wrong. They actually named it, Loureedia phoenixi, after the Batman villain played by Joaquin Pheonix. Come on! They’re not even trying anymore!

Still, none of that negates the excitement I have whenever a new species is discovered.
