It is obvious to most education professionals that it is a disservice to measure student ability and knowledge using a single metric or method of assessment. This applies not only to the regular, everyday classroom, but also to the assessment of learning disabilities. Agreed! When in the classroom, I always thought it was an injustice that assessments were/are geared mainly to verbal learners. Sure, the occasional project could address visual, tactile, perhaps even kinesthetic abilities. But we all know that pencil and paper is the usual game, and that leaves out a vast majority of the student population.
